Slang 101

OMG Homies. Last weekend was that time, yo. The annual WEA-RA conference. Last year I wrote a long list of things that I learned at RA. Remember?

Oh, Internets... Let me tell you that this year was MUCH more interesting...

THis year, we have....

TA- DAAAAAA!!!!

Slang 101.

Tiff bought Tina and me some banging flash card with street slang on the front. On the back, yo, there is the definition with pronunciation guide, a picture, AND the word used in a sentence so you get the feel of it, locs.

We ended up dividing the decks into words we know and use occasionally and the ones we don't know and never use. We committed to learning and using three words daily. If each of us learned three words, then we actually learned nine over the course of the day. HA!

Here are some examples:

dank: something of high quality
cheddar: Money
Flossin: showing off; flashy
locs: people
big ups: Showing admiration towards someone

Here's a sentence using all (courtesy of Andrew)
Big ups to Tiffany for droppin’ some cheddar on those dank cards. We was straight flossin dat lingo in front of all dem Spokane locs!

I hope to make our delegation proud by learning these words and using them everyday, aiight?
