A Very Special Music Monday... (On Wednesday)

Oh, Internets... It's been a rough week here at Amy's Annotations.

I had my 18th wedding anniversary and while that was a happy occasion, I also had a birthday. And, Internets, this was a big one. It was the big FOUR OH. (It needs to be capitalized because it is so big.)

All year long, I've been anticipating this birthday because for me it's kind of one of those milestones where you say, "OK. I'm 40. There are just things that I am not going to do now."

There are regrets, yes. I wish I'd had children. I wish I'd lost weight. I wish, I wish I wish.

40 just seems like the age where some things just stop. Like there's a line that's drawn that tells you that you can't cross it. You know, like those height limits on the rides at the amusement parks? The ones that say, "YOU MUST BE THIS HIGH TO RIDE THIS RIDE?" My line says, "YOU MUST NOT BE OVER 40 TO..." whatever the activity may be.

I know you're saying it's my mind block. And it is. I just thought I'd have done more of the things that I'm regretting I didn't do right now.

But, this post wasn't supposed to be me wallowing to all y'all. It was really to thank those close friends of mine who get it and who love me.

Thanks to you ALL. Lots of love and kisses to you... (you know who you are! :-))

We all have a weakness
Some of ours are easier to identify
Look me in the eye
And ask for forgiveness
We'll make a pact to never speak
That word again, yes, you are my friend
We all have something that digs at us
At least we dig each other
So when weakness turns my ego up
I know you'll count on the me from yesterday
If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone
We all have a sickness
That cleverly attaches and multiplies
No matter how we try
We all have someone that digs at us
At least we dig each other
So when sickness turns my ego up
I know you'll act as a clever medicine
If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone
Oh, each other when everything else is gone
If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone
Oh, each other, sing this song, when everything else is gone
Oh, each other, when everything else is gone

Music Monday

So today I have been married to my dear husband (DH for short) for 18 years. Can you believe it? Am I old enough to be married for 18 years???

So, in honor of our 18th anniversary, I bring you a very special Music Monday. Today's song is the song that he gave me a pearl Black Hills Gold ring at my senior prom. It is also the first song we danced to at our wedding. And it is the song playing in the background of our wedding video. I LOVE this song...

I would do anything
to hold on to you
that's just about anything
until you pull through

I'd hold on to you
til the stars no longer wink
I'd hold on to you
til you figure out
just what to think,

'cause
you're emotion in motion
my magical potion
you're emotion in motion
to me

I would go anywhere
to meet up with you
that's just about anywhere
for one rendezvous

I'd hold on to you
until the mountains crumble flat
I'd hold on to you
until the figure out
just where you're at,

'cause
you're emotion in motion
my magical potion
you're emotion in motion
to me

yeah
I would do anything
to hold on to you
that's just about anything
that you want me to

I'd hold on to you
until you take it all in stride
I'd hold on to you
til you want to stay here
by my side,

'cause
you're emotion in motion
my magical potion
you're emotion in motion
to me
